Secret #1: Habits
You are where you are right now because of your habits. Your habits are your fall back plan. They are what you do on autopilot or what happens automatically. 

Over the years I have worked with hundreds of patients wanting to lose weight. They would say “Dr. Pursley, I would like to lose weight”. Thinking they were serious about losing weight I would reply “Great! I have a way that you can lose weight without buying anything. Would you like to know how?” They would say “Absolutely!” I would reply “Perfect! I would give them a worksheet and have them come back in a week. On their next appointment, I would then ask them how their weight loss was going. Almost every single time the patient would sheepishly reply “Well…” And then give me their excuses as to why they didn’t lose any weight.

Then one day it dawned on me. The process isn’t the problem, the patient is the problem. It’s
the patient’s understanding of what is needed in order to have lasting results. Simply put, change your
habits, change your life.

What habits do you have that don’t serve you? Make a list of them. We have to get real with ourselves if we are going to make a change. We have to be honest with ourselves. We have to take responsibility for our own actions if there is going to be a change forever. No more blaming others, No more pointing fingers, No more excuses!
Secret #2: The Scale
The scale I am referring to is talking about motivation, not something you stand on. It’s referring to the likelihood of success, not a measurement tool. I’m talking about the 1-10 scale.

Whew, that was close. For a second I thought we were going to go on and on about weighing myself on a scale and that would be uncomfortable. Get used to it! Change will not come from being comfortable. I am not talking about pain I’m talking about discomfort. There’s a big difference, but we will talk about that later.

The scale I am referring to is on scale of 1-10 how committed are you to losing weight permanently? 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. What was the first number that popped into your head? 8? 7? 9? Or was it a definite, resounding, confident, 10!!! I can tell you this for sure if you aren’t an immediate 10 your chances of success are slim.
Secret #3: Compelling Vision For The Future
With weight loss or goal setting it is tempting to take the easy way out and just set a result in the future without giving it much thought. However I am going to ask you to dive deep in to yourself and write down a compelling vision for the future. A future you can be proud of and feel as if it were today. Notice I’m saying to write down…a compelling…vision…for the future. This is a multiple step process that should not be taken lightly. Whenever you reach a point where you feel overwhelmed or like you don’t want to go any further this will be the one thing you will refer back to in order to capture the excitement you felt on the first day. So get a pen and paper or a computer and we are going to craft your future before you move on any further. 

For this step to be effective you must be in a great state of mind and in a quiet place.
Step #4: Create a Plan 
And not just any plan. A massive-action plan. Not just a little action - massive action.

Doesn’t it make sense that if you take a little action - what results will you get? Little results. If you take massive action - what results will you get? Massive.

The only difference between someone who takes a little action and someone who takes massive action is a belief. Believe in yourself and believe it will happen.
Step #5: Measure Results
You Have to measure where are you going.   

Otherwise, what will happen is by the time you look up, you realize you're in the wrong spot. And then you have to make corrections, but that goes back to anticipation, right?

You gonna anticipate the things that might go wrong based on the information you learned from other people.
